Salso Gets it’s First Press

Salso made its debut at SergDun’s annual Tamale Day last weekend. A full recap of the event can be found at www.groceryeats.com. In short, a bunch of knuckle heads got together and with the guidance of Mexican Overseers, made tamales from scratch. The tamales had homemade masa and your choice of meat or cheese.

I busted out the Salso and left a bunch in the fridge for heads to take home. I had told a few people about it and I probably looked like an idiot who spent way too much time on the packaging, but as the saying goes, “Oh well.” I might have done a little too much politicking for people to taste it, but I tried to refrain and not overwhelm even though I was excited about feedback. Luckily a couple people liked the packaging and picked it up and would tell anyone else who was eying it “Alan made that.” Then the person would look at it more and be more intrigued. But the best part was the people that didn’t give a fuck who made it or what the package looked like. They were grubbin down on it. Most people that ate it were on repetition mode, grab a chip, dip, eat, grab a chip, dip, eat, over and over.

The Salso Street Team was born.
